Random questions 2 =D

Sorry people.. due to a lack of creativity from exam period.. and getting all hyper for the holidays.. i can't really think of anything that interesting to post.. SO... i'm gonna screw all ur minds up with more of my stupid questions of life WHEEEEEE =D


1)If people from Poland are called "Poles," why aren't people from Holland called "Holes"?

2)We all know that people like to gamble all the time.. even in the stock market.. it's just a HUGE game of chance.. in games like these.. NOBODY wants to go broke.. but WHY the hell is the person who invests all the money in it called a broker??!?

3)We all say "cheese" when we get our picture taken rite? (at least some of us).. so.. when cheese gets it's picture taken, what does it say? LOL ><

4)Person who plays piano = pianist... so why isn't a person who races a racist? XD

5)There are some things.. like look and see, man and guy.. worth and price.. that mean almost the same thing.. if THAT'S the case... WHY oh WHY is overlook and oversee, wise man and wise guy, worthless and priceless COMPLETE OPPOSITES????

6)If horrific is the adjective to something horrible, why isn't terrific the adjective for something terrible?

7)Numbers.. 8 is eight.. 21 is twenty-one.. 56 is fifty-six.. 32 is thirty-two... so WHY isn't 11 onety-one, 12 onety-two and so on and so forth will onety-nine??

8)Why is it that when somebody tells us that there are a billion stars in the universe, we'd believe them.. BUT.. when a wall or a door or ANYTHING for that matter says "WET PAINT" on it.. we just HAVE to touch it? =(

9)I've been going to starbucks so often that i wonder where the term "coffee break" comes from.. so it got me thinking.. if it means the literal thing.. do lipton tea employees go for COFFEE breaks? XD

10)I was thinking on how mothers use like TINY LITTLE spoons and forks to feed their babies.. so i wondered.. how come our typical chinese mothers don't feed us with like two toothpicks used as a chopstick? LOL...

11)Sponges.. what are they... they are a very good water absorbant.. true? okay.. so.. wouldn't the oceans and seas have a LOT more water if there weren't so many sponges in them? =)

12)The phrase "it's only a game" is a good term.. it makes us less sore-loser-ish and gives us good sportsmanship.. if THAT'S the case.. why do ONLY losers use it and we NEVER say "it's only a game" when we're winning? ahaha...

13)We all know that the fastest time to get from point A to point B is a straight line connecting it right? so wouldn't lightning be a LOT faster if it didn't zigzag everywhere?

14)I was thinking of my childhood days when i used to drink cod liver oil.. then it got me thinking again.. if cod liver oil comes from cod liver.. and olive oil comes from olives... geeee... i'm starting to worry where baby oil comes from.........

15)Word play.. isn't it amusing that there are synonyms for SO many words in the english dictionary but there isn't a synonym for the word synonym? ><

16)U know doctors.. their act of treating patients and all.. WHY of all words it is called PRACTICE?? imagine u go to some doctor to do some operation and ur english isn't good.. and u hear him say "I'm famous for my practice".. wouldn't u be like wtf? lol



Well.. i think that's enough for now.. it's really time consuming and stressful to think of stuff like that to entertain my readers.. wheeee... i need to go shopping for prom.. with so little cash.. sighh... take care ya'll~~ lifeless out~~
